Fly Casting Classes
Join us on Saturday April 20th or Saturday April 27th for fly fishing classes! We will meet at Calkins Nature Area from 12 pm to 2 pm and cast in the open front yard of the nature center. This is a beginner only class and teaches the basics to properly cast a fly with a fly fishing rod. There are 12 spots available and you must RSVP and make your $20 payment to hold your spot. Fly Tying Classes
On February 9th and February 16th from 12 pm to 2 pm, Hardin County Conservation will be hosting fly tying classes at Calkins Nature Area. These classes are great for families, crafters, beginner and experienced tyers, or those generally interested in learning how to tie flies and jigs for fishing.
There are 15 spots available for both classes, meaning pre-registration is required. The class is $20 per person and all tying materials, vises, and other necessary supplies will be provided at no additional cost. You will also get to take home all of the flies that you tie! After all, it is rewarding to catch a fish on a fly or lure that you hand crafted.
