On March 24th and March 31st from 12 pm to 2 pm, Hardin County Conservation will be hosting fly tying classes at Calkins Nature Area. These classes are great for families, crafters, beginner and experienced tyers, or those generally interested in learning how to tie flies and jigs for fishing.
There are 15 spots available for both classes, meaning pre-registration is required. The class is $10 per person and all tying materials, vises, and other necessary supplies will be provided at no additional cost. You will also get to take home all of the flies that you tie! After all, it is rewarding to catch a fish on a fly or lure that you hand crafted.
If you have never fly fished or tied flies, we highly recommend attending the class on March 24th. The March 31st date is for advanced tyers or those who completed the beginner class.
To RSVP and hold your spot, we must receive your $10 payment. Checks can be made out to Hardin County Conservation, but send your payment to Calkins Nature Area at 18335 135th street, Iowa Falls, IA, 50126.
