Food Plot Management
Sunflowers in a field.

Sunflowers in a field. Hardin County Conservation plants a wide variety of food plots that are geared toward many different animal species. These food plots are very beneficial to the wildlife in the area because it gives them nutritional food supplements especially during the winter months. These are the different food plots that we plant around the county:

  • Corn
  • Beans
  • Sunflowers
  • Sorghum
  • Millet
  • Various Mixes

A sunflower food plot, as shown to the right, will benefit many different animal species including doves, pheasants, turkeys and song birds.
