Summer Day Camps

Every year in June, Calkins Nature Area hosts three separate weeklong day camps that give kids the opportunity to unplug and immerse themselves in a week of experiencing nature. The best part is - the campers don’t even realize they are learning because they are too busy having fun!

Time for picture break above during of the many nature hikes during day camps. One of the main objectives of our day camps is to get kids unplugged and immersed in nature.

Camp activities include a wide variety of nature-themed games, crafts, wilderness skills and nature exploration hikes, to name but a few.

Caterpillar Camp: For kids entering K-1st is usually the 1st full week in June and is 9:00-1:00 M-F

Sunfish Camp: For kids entering 2nd-3rd is usually the 2nd full week in June and is 9:00-2:00 M-F

Mallard Camp: For kids entering 4th-5th is usually the 3rd full week in June and is 9:00-3:00 M-F

Camp registration is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will open each year on the second Wednesday in April. Questions? Email Calkins Education Staff
